WHAT IS THE HIGH PERFORMANCE SQUAD?
The SLSNZ High Performance Squad (‘HP Squad’) is a pool of athletes from where New Zealand representative teams are generally selected. Selection into the HP Squad is made according to the relevant Selection Policy.

Ocean & Beach Selection Information
Information for Ocean and Beach selections are currently open and will close 5pm Monday 26 February.
Who can apply? Current ocean and beach HP athletes and new athletes aspiring to compete on the world stage.
What are selection for? SLSNZ will be sending youth and open National teams to the Life Saving World Championships in 2024.
Selection Events: Athletes and coaches should refer to the Selection Policy Section 10.0 for Selection Events.
Selection Announcements: The selection announcement for ocean and beach athletes is scheduled post Aussies 2024. Any changes to this timeline will be communicated.

IRB SELECTION INFORMATION
By invitation only: Open Male & Female crews in contention for selection to represent New Zealand at the Lifesaving World Championships to be held on 4-5 September 2024, Gold Coast, Australia.
Selection Events: NZ IRB Trial 2-3 December 2023.
Selection Announcements: Post New Zealand IRB Trial.

Surf Boat Selection Information
SURF BOAT SELECTION INFORMATION
Who Can Apply? Under 23 and Open Male & Female crews who wish to be considered for selection to represent New Zealand at the Trans-Tasman Surf Boat Challenge to be held in Lorne Australia on 17th February 2024.
Selection Events: NZ Surf Boat Trial. Other events may be used to assist selection as per Selection Policy.
Selection Announcements: The selection announcement for New Zealand Surf Boat Crews is scheduled to be made at the New Zealand Surf Boat Trials. Any changes to this timeline will be communicated.
