Waihi Beach Lifeguard Service is situated at the northern end of Waihi Beach, but patrol the full length of the beach (10km) as well as some of the smaller bays up the coast.
The Waihi Beach lifeguards work to keep the beach safe for the many swimmers, sunbathers, picnickers and holiday makers from all around New Zealand, who make their way to our beach for the busy summer months.

Waihi Beach is patrolled on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays from 26 October 2019 to 3 April 2020. Volunteer lifeguards patrol from 11:00am to 5:00pm on Saturdays and at 10:00am to 4:00pm on Sundays. From 16 December 2019 to 27 January 2020 patrol hours are extended to 10:00am to 5:00pm all weekend. From 28 January 2020 to 3 April 2020 patrol hours are 11:00am to 5:00pm on Saturdays and 10:00am to 4:00pm on Sundays. A Regional Lifeguard Service operates from 10:00am to 6:00pm from 16 December 2019 to 31 January 2020.
