Surf Life Saving New Zealand Reveals Management Team for World Championships

Thursday, 18 May 2023

Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ) is excited to announce the management teams for the 2024 Lifesaving World Championships.

The group of 14 people has been carefully selected for crucial roles in coaching, team management and health for both the Black Fins and Junior Black Fins teams.

In addition, we are delighted to welcome nine people who will provide invaluable assistance and specialist advice to our High Performance Programmes.  Their expertise extends beyond this event, as they may also assist with other international competitions.

The team will work together to prepare and support our athletes as they compete at the world’s biggest competition in life saving sport.

Tanya Hamilton, SLSNZ’s High Performance manager, said, “We are incredibly proud to unveil this management team.  Their wealth of expertise, dedication, and commitment will help guide and support our team.  We are confident with their help, our athletes will make their mark on the global stage.”

The biennial event will take place on the Gold Coast and will run for three weeks from 20th August to 8th September 2024.

Up to 7,000 athletes from 50 countries, including Olympian and World Champions, from youth to masters, will take part in the competition, with an additional 12,000 supporters.

The pool events will be held at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre at Southport, while the ocean events will take place at Kurrawa Beach.
