Safeguarding Our Young People In Surf Lifesaving

Surf Life Saving New Zealand has the responsibility and commitment to safe guarding the welfare and wellbeing of all children and young people in our care and taking part in surf lifesaving activities. If you have a question or concern about a young person, please, feel comfortable and reach out to ask ”Are you OK?

Any allegation or concern that a child or young person may have been harmed or abused must be taken seriously and dealt with sensitively and promptly. Take care to ensure that the privacy of the victim and any accused person/s is maintained.

  • This process is strictly confidential.
  • Advise the National Child Protection Officer of the incident.
  • Follow instructions from SLSNZ’s National Child Protection Officer where necessary
