Surf Life Saving New Zealand announces finalists for the 2022 Bay of Plenty & Coromandel Awards of Excellence

 

Each year the top Lifeguards and volunteers across the Surf Lifesaving Clubs of Hot Water Beach LGS, Tairua SLSC, Pauanui SLSC, Onemana SLSC, Whangamata SLSC, Whiritoa LGS, Waihi Beach LS, Mt Maunganui LS, Omanu Beach SLSC, Papamoa SLSC, Maketu SLSC, Pukehina SR, Whakatane SLSC and Opotiki SLSC are acknowledged at the Bay of Plenty & Coromandel Surf Life Saving NZ Awards of Excellence. The Awards recognise and celebrate the hard work, skills and countless volunteer hours and dedication that go into Lifeguarding, education, administration and Lifesaving Sport throughout the region.

Avan Polo, SLSNZ Eastern Regional Manager says, “I’d like to congratulate all the finalists for the 2022 Bay of Plenty & Coromandel Awards of Excellence. Their efforts and achievements in Lifesaving and Lifesaving Sport have been standout, especially in light on ongoing challenges presented by Covid-19. I’m impressed by their resilience and determination to continue to keep their communities safe and their ability to excel, despite the often difficult conditions.”

He adds, “We are looking forward to announcing the winners of the Lifesaving, Lifesaving Sport & Supreme Awards at the Bay of Plenty and Coromandel Awards of Excellence Awards which will be held at the Papamoa Surf Lifesaving Club on the 30th of July.”

The Regional Awards culminate in the National Awards of Excellence which will be held on the 17th September.
