Surf Life Saving NZ Acknowledges Presumed Fatality at Ruapuke

Volunteer Surf Lifeguards assisted in the search for a missing adult male at Papanui Point, Ruapuke on November 29, 2020. The patient is presumed deceased and the body has not been found.
At 9:30am on Nov 29, 2020, Raglan SLSC Surf Life Guards were contacted regarding reports of a missing fisherman at Ruapuke.
Surf Lifeguards were joined by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, who identified several of the patient’s personal items in the water. The incident took place at a non-lifeguarded beach and sadly the patient remains missing.
Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends.
Surf Life Saving New Zealand would like to thank all volunteers and emergency service personnel involved in the incident.
