SLSNZ Appoint new High Performance Campaign Lead

Dan Grant has been appointed as High Performance Campaign Lead for the SLSNZ.

Dan brings a strong analytical understanding of the LWC event and what it takes to win. He is experienced in leading and managing high performing teams and athletes as well as having been involved with the Black Fins in various roles since 2015.

Dan will have a long term focus on the Life Saving World Championships in 2022 working collaboratively with the existing  HP Coach Leads and selectors to identify team strategies and athletes capable of excellent and inspiring performances at the LWC.

Dan has over 15 years’ experience coaching club athletes across all disciplines at the Lifesaving World Championships and has been fortunate to have worked with National Champions in ski, board, Ironman, sprints, flags and pool rescue events.

He has previously coached teams from Bay of Plenty, Auckland and Wellington at Inter Districts, Rep challenge and Surf League and is currently actively coaching at the Omaha Surf Life Saving Club.

In addition to  coaching within surf lifesaving he has also been fortunate to be able to run coach development programmes around the world for both the Japanese and International Life Saving Federations. 

Professionally, he has carved a career in sport, working with both volunteers and professionals at club, regional and national levels.
