Programme of events for the 2017 Trans-Tasman Challenge, North Island Surf Boat Championships, New Zealand Representative Surf Boat Challenge and Champion of Champions at Waihi Beach from February 4-5.

SATURDAY:

10.00am- North Island Surf Boat Championships and Trans-Tasman Test Series (New Zealand vs Australia).

• Round 1 - North Island Surf Boat Championships
• Trans Tasman Challenge Opening Ceremony & National Anthems
• Round 1 - Trans Tasman Surf Boat Challenge
• Round 2 - North Island Surf Boat Championships
• Round 2 - Trans Tasman Surf Boat Challenge
• Round 3 - North Island Surf Boat Championships
• Round 3 - Trans Tasman Surf Boat Challenge
• Round 4/or Semi - North Island Surf Boat Championships
• Round 5/or Final - North Island Surf Boat Championships

The North Island Surf Boat Championships will have three rounds which includes a Trans-Tasman race following each round. Following the rounds and conclusion of the Trans-Tasman test will be the semis and finals for the North Island Surf Boat Championships.

SUNDAY:

8.00am- New Zealand Representative Surf Boat Challenge.

Opening Ceremony and Introduction of the regional crews

Race 1: U19 Women's Regional Race
Race 2: U19 Men's Regional Race
Race 3: U23 Women's Regional Race
Race 4: U23 Men's Regional Race
Race 5: Open Women's Regional Race
Race 6: Open Men's Regional Race
Note: Races 1 - 6: long course format/dry finish
Race 7: U19 Women's Regional Race
Race 8: U19 Men's Regional Race
Race 9: U23 Women's Regional Race
Race 10: U23 Men's Regional Race
Race 11: Open Women's Regional Race
Race 12: Open Men's Regional Race
Note: Races 7 - 12: short course format/dry finish.
Race 13: Female Regional Relay - The 3 female representative crews from each region form a 3 boat relay race.
Race 14: Male Regional Relay - The 3 male representative crews from each region form a 3 boat relay race.
Note: Races 13/14: short course format/dry finish & transitions

Regional Representative teams of 6 crews per team will battle it out over a three race series of 1x Long Course, 1x Short Course and 1x Surf Boat Relay. The winning region will have the highest total points across the three races per age group and be crowned champions.

12.30pm- Champion of Champions.

• Round 1 - Champion of Champions
• Round 2 - Champion of Champions
• Round 3 - Champion of Champions
• Finals - Champion of Champions (finals depending on numbers e.g. final e,d,c,b,a)

The Champion of Champions is an Open event and allows all crews to test themselves against the best in the business. Races will be run as Short Course through heats and a finals round to eventually find the Champion of Champions crew.
