Change to BP Rescue of the Month format

BP Rescue of the Month awards recognise the outstanding rescues performed by our members throughout the surf lifesaving patrol season. Surf Life Saving Clubs can nominate their members for their contributions to protecting our community in the water.

This season there will be a change in format for our BP Rescue of the Month awards.

Instead of one winner for each region, with one overall national winner, we will acknowledge the top three rescues around the county.

From November through to March, three winners will be chosen and one of those will be recognised as the national winner of BP Rescue of the Month.

The national winners of BP Rescue of the Month will receive a $500 BP gift card while the second and third placed rescues each month will receive $300 and $200 BP gift cards respectively.

The monthly national winners will go on to be finalists for BP Rescue of the Year which is announced at the annual Surf Life Saving Zealand Awards of Excellence. The winners of the BP Rescue of the Year are recognised with a plaque and a $1,000 BP gift card for their club.

Nominations for the first round of awards for the 2016-17 season close on December 7.
