Eastern Bay Energy Trust supports 2016 New Zealand Surf Life Saving Championships

Sunday, 6 March 2016

Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ) is pleased to announce it has secured a naming rights sponsor for the pinnacle event of the season, the New Zealand Surf Life Saving Championships.

Eastern Bay Energy Trust has partnered with SLSNZ to showcase and celebrate the national champs which, as its largest annual event, attracts over 1,400 athletes over four days of competition.

Event Manager Prue Younger says the new partnership is a great opportunity to celebrate this iconic event.

This season, the New Zealand Surf Life Saving Championships heads to Ohope Beach, Whakatane from 17 - 20 March as the membership competes to be crowned National Champions against their friends and fellow athletes.

The New Zealand Masters Championships will take place on Thursday 17 March, paving the way for the Open Championships from Friday 18 March until Sunday 20 March.

Eastern Bay Energy Trust Manager Rawinia Kamau says Trustees were delighted to be able to support the 2016 New Zealand Surf Life Saving Championships.

"It's our way of recognising the immense value that Surf Life Saving provides to our community and at the same time enabling an event that will bring an influx of visitors to our region."
