Surf Life Saving New Zealand is excited to announce Jason Pocock as the new Coach of the New Zealand Open Team, along with the return of Mark Weatherall as Team Manager.

These are fixed term positions from March 2015 to November 2016.

They will help lead the preparation and performance of athletes in the New Zealand Open Team (the Black Fins) leading up to and including the Lifesaving World Championships being held in the Netherlands in September 2016, at which the Black Fins will be the defending champions.

Surf Life Saving New Zealand Sport Manager Mike Lord says "both Jason and Mark bring a great mix of knowledge and experience to the roles from wins in 2012 and 2014 which will help build a strong and successful New Zealand team. I look forward to working with them all for another successful campaign," he says.

The remaining New Zealand Team management positions, including assistant coach, assistant manager and physio, will be announced soon, along with the New Zealand Youth Management Team.

The High Performance Squads for the 2015-16 season will be announced at the conclusion of the AquaPick New Zealand Surf Life Saving Championships 2015 in Gisborne this weekend.
