Clubbies confirmed as 2015 Hillary ScholarsTuesday, 3 March 2015
Surf Life Saving New Zealand would like to congratulate its members who have been named as scholars for the University of Waikato Hillary Scholarship Programme for 2015.
Mount Maunganui Lifeguard Service's Bradley Wiley is a new scholar while fellow Mount clubbies Sam Shergold and Karina Radley are returning scholars. They are all coached by John Bryant.
Brad is studying a Bachelor of Management Studies, Karina is studying a Bachelor of Science Technology, majoring in Animal Behaviour and Sam is studying a Bachelor of Business Management, majoring in Finance.
The Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship programme is the most prestigious scholarship on offer at Waikato University. It's awarded to students who are high academic achievers and who are also achieving in the arts or sports. Scholars have their course fees covered, receive specialist coaching and mentoring and take part in personal development and leadership programmes.
Many Surf Life Saving club members have successfully applied for scholarships in the past.
The closing date for 2016 Hillary Scholarship applications will be Friday 18th September 2015.
