Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ) is pleased to announce it has secured a naming rights sponsor for the pinnacle event of the season, the New Zealand Surf Life Saving Championships.
Aquapick (Advanced Oral Irrigation Systems) has partnered with SLSNZ to showcase and celebrate the national champs which, as the largest annual event, attracts over 1,400 athletes over four days of competition.
Simon Clegg, Director of the Josi Group Limited, suppliers of Aquapick products, sees this partnership as an opportunity to launch his new oral hygiene product to the right target market. "The health benefits of good oral hygiene start with youth and this event brings the ideal candidates together; those that enjoy good health, sport and recreation. Aquapick will have a positive impact on the health of Kiwis, making oral hygiene easier and more effective," he says.
Simon says Aquapick also understands and respects the time and effort that volunteer lifeguards put into helping keep people safer at New Zealand's beaches every summer.
Event Manager Prue Younger says this year, the event has offered businesses the chance to support and connect at a sponsorship level, offering naming rights to the various arenas as well as single events. "The impact of this means that there is a real involvement by the community and surf lifesaving sector and an opportunity to celebrate this iconic event," she says.
This season, the New Zealand Surf Life Saving Championships heads back to the east coast of Gisborne to Midway Beach from the 12-15 March 2015 as the membership competes to be crowned National Champions against their friends and fellow athletes.
The NZ Masters Championships will take place on Thursday 12 March, paving the way for the Open Championships from Friday 13 March until Sunday 15 March.
Entries are now open online and close at 5pm on Monday 2 March.
