Surf Life Saving New Zealand has confirmed the dates for the 2014 Annual General Meeting (AGM), Club Chairs Strategy Workshop and national Awards of Excellence.
The three events will take place on Saturday September 20 at the Amora Hotel in Wellington.
The Strategy Workshop will take place from 10.30am-3pm followed by the AGM from 4pm-5.30pm with the Awards of Excellence beginning at 6.30pm.
All clubs are invited to send their Chairperson (or an appropriate alternative delegate) to attend this session. Logically, to minimise club's travel costs, the workshop attendee would be the same person as attending the AGM and the awards that follow.
The agenda will be developed from club feedback over the coming months. The intention is for clubs to drive the agenda based on the key topics they want to discuss at a national level. Please send any requests/suggestions to SLSNZ Chief Executive Officer Paul Dalton (email email@example.com) by Wednesday August 20, 2014.
A final agenda will be circulated on Friday August 29 in conjunction with the AGM agenda.
SLSNZ advises that two (2) Elected Board Member positions (currently held by Colin Weatherall and Andrew Lancaster) and one (1) Appointed Board Member position (currently held by Warwick Bell) are up for election/appointment at this AGM. In addition, there is also one (1) Independent Appointed Board Member position (currently held by Trevor Taylor) up for appointment. There will be a call for applications to fill these four (4) positions in June 2014.
Any person who wishes to apply for a position on the SLSNZ Board must do so by no later than Monday July 21, 2014.
If the Board or any club wish to submit any proposed motions (including alterations to the SLSNZ Constitution) or other items of business for consideration at the AGM, these must be received in writing by Paul Dalton before 5pm on Wednesday August 20, 2014.
Clubs and Associate Members wishing to appoint a delegate to attend the AGM need to complete the Notification of Delegate Form (that has been emailed to clubs) and return it to Paul Dalton by 5pm on Wednesday August 20, 2014
If any other members (e.g. Individual or Life Members) wish to attend the AGM, please notify Paul Dalton before 5pm on Wednesday August 20, 2014. Life Members and partners are also invited to attend the awards dinner.
The deadline for submission of Postal and Electronic Voting Forms is 4pm on Thursday September 18, 2014. This form will be supplied with the AGM agenda.
The deadline for submission of alternate delegates for the AGM (if the designated delegate is no longer available) is 4pm on Friday September 19.
The deadline for submission of Proxy Voting Forms is 3pm on Saturday September 20, 2014. This form will be supplied with the AGM agenda.
