2014 Outward Bound scholarships announced
Monday, 12 May 2014Surf Life Saving New Zealand has once again been given the opportunity to be a part of Outward Bound's community scholarships scheme.
Many applications were received from all over the country, making the judging process a difficult undertaking for the selection panel.
Surf Life Saving New Zealand is pleased to announce the following candidates have been successful in their applications for 2014:
Classic Course
• Troy Greenem, Lyall Bay
• Christopher Butt, Muriwai
• Hannah Laughton, Waimairi
Masters Course
• Kim Nilsson, Waimarama
Discovery Course
• Jenna Evans, North Beach
• Laura Travers-Jones, Titahi Bay
They will be attending these courses throughout June, July and August.
Outward Bound is an adventure-based experience located in Anakiwa, Marlborough Sounds, that uses the outdoors to challenge participants mentally and physically. People from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, abilities and ages attend Outward Bound.
For several years now, Outward Bound has offered Surf Life Saving New Zealand a scholarship scheme which has given many of our members the opportunity to try a range of their courses.
More Outward Bound scholarships will be available next season through SLSNZ.
