SLSNZ Chairman announces High Performance Squads and Youth Team

I am pleased to announce that the following members have been selected for Surf Life Saving New Zealand's High Performance Squads and Youth Team for 2014/2015.
Surf Life Saving New Zealand will be sending two teams to compete at the Lifesaving World Championships (Rescue 2014) in France this September - a New Zealand Open Team and a New Zealand Youth Team.
The New Zealand Youth Team is selected from eligible athletes in both the New Zealand Open and Development Squads and was named today at the conclusion of the 2014 New Zealand Surf Life Saving Championships in Ohope.
The Youth Team includes the following athletes who will travel to France in September with team manager Brent Wilson and coaches Kurt Wilson and Jonelle Quane.

2. Maia Bryant - Papamoa
3. Ben Cochrane - Omanu
4. Olivia Eaton - Mt Maunganui
5. Jacob Hales - Papamoa
6. Jake Hurley - Mairangi Bay
7. Ben Johnston - Papamoa
8. Matthew Scott - Midway
9. Jasmine Smith - Wainui
10. Andrew Trembath - St Clair
11. Brittany Tucker - Sumner
12. Hannah Williams - Piha
The New Zealand Open Team, who will be fighting to retain their World Championship title from Rescue 2012 in Adelaide, will be chosen from athletes in the Open Squad later in the year aftertraining camps and further testing. The Development Squad includes athletes who have the potential to represent New Zealand at both Open and Youth levels in the future.
Both squads are selected for a 12 month period and the National Selectors reserve the right to add athletes to squads at any time.
