Call for IRB Advisory Group Applications

Monday, 24 March 2014

Surf Life Saving New Zealand is calling for applications for IRB Advisory Group representatives.

The purpose of the IRB Advisory Group is to provide advice to the National Sport Committee (NSC) on matters relating to IRB racing.

Representatives on the IRB Advisory Group should possess specialist knowledge in this area and be available to meet when required to discuss IRB racing matters. There is no regional appointment process.  All appointments are based on merit. Key skills will be strategic thinking ability, contributing to the direction of surf sport activities across New Zealand, technical knowledge and experience with IRB racing and the mix of skills and experience across the IRB Advisory Group.

There are seven positions available. Four positions are for a term of two years and three are for a position of one year. These terms start on 1 May, 2014.

From 2015 onwards, all terms will be for two years to ensure there is consistency and rotation on the IRB Advisory Group.  This aligns with the timing and principles being applied to the NSC.

Applications should be submitted to Surf Life Saving New Zealand Sport Manager Mike Lord with a brief cover letter detailing their IRB experience and any additional skills that they can bring to the IRB Advisory Group.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Monday 21 April, 2014.

Mike Lord will advise all applicants as to whether they have been successful or not before 1 May, 2014. Successful applicants will also be advised if they have been appointed for a one year or two year term.

Please contact Mike Lord if you have any queries or require further information by emailing mike.lord@surflifesaving.org.nz or phoning 027 457 1025.
