Dress for Summer this Friday

The Surf Life Saving Summer Appeal collection day is now only three days away!

There are many activities occurring across the country on Friday January 31 to get the community involved and raising funds for Surf Life Saving.

We are asking the community to dress for summer on Friday as a part of sharing this special day. Wear your board shorts, zinc, sun hat or Jandals. Perhaps dress up your workplace and, importantly, give generously to the surf lifeguards and our volunteers on the streets. 

In Auckland, we are holding a free, fun event for the general public in Wynyard Quarter from 12-3pm during which time there will be a number of exciting activities taking place along with prizes to be won, just by coming down and showing your support for Surf Life Saving.

The Wellington Phoenix, as a charity partner of Surf Life Saving, will be on site offering people the chance to kick for prizes, including tickets to Saturday's game. Surf Life Saving ambassador Jamie McDell will also be there to perform some of her hit singles and to top things off, lifeguards will be performing on-water tube rescue demonstrations. Other partners have 'Bomb the Boss,' Jandal throwing and other fantastic events to raise money and show their support.

We will also have collectors out and about on the streets nationwide collecting donations and spreading the word about the amazing work of our volunteer lifeguards.
