Applications open for the 2014 BP Leaders for Life

Are you interested in developing your leadership skills? Do you have a clear understanding of your strengths, your principles and your purpose?

Surf Life Saving New Zealand is looking for candidates to take part in the 2014 BP Leaders for Life.

In July 2012, Surf Life Saving New Zealand ran four regionally-based leadership development programmes. The programme emphasised the development of leaders at a local level who are skilled at working collaboratively with and through others to build and sustain Surf Life Saving in New Zealand.

The 2014 BP Leaders for Life is part of a national strategy to support a wide range of development activity for members' right across the Surf Life Saving community.

The purpose of the BP Leaders for Life is to enhance the ability of current and emerging leaders within the Surf Life Saving community to make a real difference to their clubs and across the wider organisation. 

Candidates for the 2014 BP Leaders for Life can register in one of three groups which will cover the Northern Region, Eastern Region and the Central/Southern Regions. There will be approximately 15 participants in each group and each will focus particularly on leading improvement and change, and working with others. Participants will take part in two 2-day workshops and one 3-day workshop within  their region and will be required to complete a project in small groups.

Participants will be current or emerging leaders at club or regional level. They will have aspirations to make a real difference and recognise their need to develop as leaders.
