New staffing structure for Eastern Region

Friday, 22 August 2014

After a significant consultation period involving Eastern Region Club Chairs and Eastern Region Staff, we are pleased to announce a new staffing structure for the Eastern Region.

This new structure has seen the removal of the Club Development Officer and Regional Programmes and Services Manager roles in favour of three new positions; Sport Manager - Eastern Region, Club & Membership Development Manager - Eastern Region and Lifesaving & Education Manager - Eastern Region.

Individual consultation with all Eastern Region Club Chairs was completed by May 1 and out of the 19 club chairs, 17 were supportive of the proposed structure. One was undecided and one supported the status quo of the CDO/RPSM structure.

It was resolved at the SLSNZ Board Meeting on May 25 to enter into a consultative phase with the Eastern Region staff. This consultation phase was completed on August 5 and the SLSNZ Board resolved that they would progress forward with the proposed new structure.

We are now pleased to announce that, as of August 18, former Acting RPSM Scott Bicknell is the new Sport Manager - Eastern Region and former CDO Sarah Leppard is the new Club & Membership Development Manager - Eastern Region.

We are now in the process of looking for an individual to fill the role of Lifesaving & Education Manager - Eastern Region and we hope to have this position filled by early October.

For more information about the role, including a position description, please visit https://surflifesaving.qjumpers.co.nz/jobs/ad/?jobid=14526Applications close at 5pm on Friday August 29, 2014.

As the staff move into these new roles, there with be a six week transition phase from now until September 26 where our major focus will on:

• Completing the POM process with all clubs.
• Healthy Clubs Initiatives meetings with all clubs
• Regional Lifeguard and Beach Education employment process
