The purpose of BP Leaders for Life is to enhance the ability of current and emerging leaders within the Surf Life Saving community to make a real difference to their clubs and across the wider organisation. In our environment, we know that leaders are effective when they are collaborative in their approach, are aware of their strengths and weaknesses and have a strong desire to improve.

Candidates for the 2014 BP Leaders for Life can register in one of three groups which will cover the Northern Region, Eastern Region and the Central/Southern Regions. There will be approximately 15 participants in each group.

What can I expect?
During the workshops, we have a series of guest speakers who will be speaking on their leadership experience, leading for impact and leading for change.

Participants will come out of the experience with an expanded awareness of their leadership strengths and areas of improvement, an increased ability to communicate in an effective and compelling manner, have a deeper understanding of how to build constructive relationships and lead change and have an increased understanding of how to build trust and be influential.

How is BP Leaders for Life funded? Will I have to pay for anything?
As with most member education, there is a user pays charge. This amount will be invoiced to your club, the club will then have the option of paying for it, or asking the user to pay.

How do I get involved?

When does the BP Leaders for Life start and how long does it go for?
The start dates vary for each region from May - August 2014. The duration of the programme is approximately five months.

Are there age restrictions?
Yes, you must be between 17-35 years-old.
