Halligan qualifies for Ironwoman Series
Monday, 16 September 2013Midway Surf Life Saving Club and New Zealand team member Devon Halligan is one of the top four women qualifiers after the Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Trial over the weekend.
The 2013/14 Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Ironman and Ironwoman Series Trial was held at Salt Beach in Northern New South Wales from September 14-15.
Every year Surf Life Saving Australia holds the Nutri-Grain Trial giving an opportunity for athletes to race to qualify for the Series.
The top four qualifiers for both the men and women go on to join last year's top ten in this summer's Nutri-Grain Series.
Devon finished in third equal along with Alyce Bennett on 55 points behind Kristyl Smith with 65points and Elizabeth Pluimers with 64 points.
Congratulations to all Surf Life Saving New Zealand high performance members who took part in the trial including Cory Taylor (Midway), Chris Moors (Red Beach), Danielle McKenzie (Mairangi Bay) and Max Beattie (Omanu).
