Outward Bound scholarships 2013 announced

Surf Life Saving New Zealand has once again been given the opportunity to be a part of Outward Bound's community scholarships scheme. Sixteen applications were received from all over the country, making the judging process a difficult undertaking for the selection panel.

Surf Life Saving New Zealand is pleased to announce the following candidates have been successful in their applications:

Classic Course (9 June - 29 June) 
  • Anna Beavis, Fitzroy 
  • Mark McRobbie, Palmerston North
Classic Course (7 July - 27 July)
  • Kate Boersen, Pauanui
Master's Course (9 June - 29 June ) 
  • Zoë Canvin, Titahi Bay
Discovery Master's Course (4 August - 11 August)
  • Joanne Herrick, SLSNZ staff
  • Craig Dent, East End
  • Gareth Vernon-Roberts, Rarangi

SLSNZ's involvement with Outward Bound is also contributing to the wider Leaders for Life delivery framework. From May 2013 SLSNZ intends to run four regionally based leadership development programmes under the Leaders for Life umbrella. Find out more about Leaders for Life here.

Outward Bound New Zealand is a charitable trust and aims to build relationships with community organisations whose missions align with that of Outward Bound; "Helping to create better people, better communities, better world".
