New Zealand Development Coaches Appointed

Kurt Wilson and Jonelle Quane have been appointed as New Zealand Development Coaches through to the end of 2014.

Head Coach Wilson from Papamoa Surf Life Saving Club was New Zealand Development Assistant Coach for the last two years. As Papamoa Head Coach he has led the growth and success of surf sports the club for the last seven years. Kurt also has a background as a surf athlete and past high performance squad member and extensive coaching experience in water polo and swimming.

Assistant Coach Quane is a member of Sumner Surf Life Saving Club and has been club coach there for seven years. She has also been in the New Zealand Academy of Sport coach development programme since 2009. Jonelle also has a background as a surf athlete and past high performance squad member and is also a member of the National Selectors panel and leads its talent identification and development work.

The coaches will work with the recently announced New Zealand Development Squad. Future activity is under development and will be communicated to Development Squad athletes.
