McLean honoured for services to Surf Life Saving

On the occasion of the celebration of Her Majesty's Birthday, today the Queens Birthday Honours list was announced.

Congratulations to Waikanae SLSC's Barry McLean who honoured with a Queens Service Medal for services to surf life saving.

A SLSNZ Life Member, Distinguised Service and Service award holder, McLean has been heavily in with Surf Life Saving for a number of years.

Also previous Lyall Bay Surf Life Saving Club member and Club patron, Dr The Right Honourable Lockwood Smith was honoured with knighthood KNZM for services as a Member of Parliament and as Speaker of the House of Representatives.
