We are pleased to announce that Nick Gutzewitz will fill the Sport Manager role in an 'acting' capacity until a new person is appointed.
Bradley Simpson's last day at Surf Life Saving New Zealand will be next Friday (December 20).
Nick will be with us for 12 weeks until the first week of March. He lives in Auckland but will be spending a few days a week in Wellington and a fair amount of time at the Mount office as well. He will be at the National Office on Monday for an induction/handover with Bradley.
Nick comes with a lot of experience in sport and organising events, having worked in recent years for Tennis NZ and NZ Rugby. In the last few months, he has also been working with NZ Hockey and doing some consulting work for the Round Taupo Cycle race.
We would like to wish Bradley all the very best as he leaves to take up a learning and development role with the Treasury.
It is a big loss for us given the progress he has been making in the sport portfolio since he started in June. However, this is a good move for Bradley, taking him back to his learning and development passion that was side-tracked with our restructuring earlier in the year.
I am sure you will join us in welcoming Nick on board and giving him plenty of advice as he comes up to speed with Surf Life Saving.
