Jamie McDell visits Hereworth School
Wednesday, 4 December 2013Designing a colourful surf safety poster won Hereworth School in Hawke's Bay a special visit from singer songwriter and Surf Life Saving ambassador Jamie McDell yesterday.
The school was selected as the winners of Surf Life Saving New Zealand's Beach Education Poster Competition which encouraged schools to sign up for a Beach Education session.
Jamie visited the school yesterday afternoon to meet the students and perform some of the hits off her debut album Six Strings and a Sailboat which recently won 'Best Pop Album' at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.
Jamie says she had a really amazing time at Hereworth School. "Everyone was so appreciative and the boys were enthusiastic to learn more about my music and most importantly safety at the beach," she says.
