Members receive University Blues Awards

Some of our club members have been recognised recently with University Blues Awards.

Lyall Bay Surf Life Saving Club member Samantha Lee was awarded Victoria University's Sportsperson of the Year. She and fellow clubbie Emma Robinson also received Blues Awards for Swimming.

Mount Maunganui Lifeguard Service's Sam Shergold was awarded Sportsman of the Year in the University of Waikato Blues Awards. He and Omanu Beach SLSC's Ashley Cochrane also received Blues Awards for surf lifesaving and Papamoa's Nicole van der Kaay was also amoungst the recipients.

Paekakariki Surf Lifeguards's Kayla Imrie was awarded Māori Sportsperson of the Year at the University of Auckland's Blues Awards.

A University Blue is the highest sporting accolade attainable at university level.
