New Year Honours for our lifeguards
Monday, 31 December 2012Congratulations to previous Surf Life Saving New Zealand President Bob Harvey who has been made a Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit today in the New Year Honours. Bob is hugely proud of his 58 year involvement with Surf Life Saving, Sir Bob retired this year as president of Surf Life Saving New Zealand.
Whakatane Surf Life Saving Club and Mount Maunganui Lifeguard Service clubbie Lisa Carrington has also achieved New Year Honours. Lisa has been made a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) - the fifth level of the order - for services to kayaking.
Chief Fire Officer and surf lifeguard Raymond Peter Dever from Tolaga Bay Surf Life Saving received a Queen Service Medal for services to the fire service.
