Applications are now open for National Selectors

Posted by Matt Warren on Thursday, December 6, 2012

Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ) invites applications for the role of National Selector. With the current National Selector appointment term ending on 31 December there are vacancies for three National Selectors.

This is an exciting opportunity to be an important part of our high performance programme and the defence of the Life Saving World Championships title won last month in Adelaide. Successful applicants will demonstrate a proven understanding of world class performance needs in both pool and ocean/beach events and a current knowledge of talented athletes.

The successful applicants will be required to identify, monitor and select athletes to represent New Zealand in international competition during 2013 and 2014, including the 2013 International Surf Rescue Challenge and the 2014 Life Saving World Championships.

The coach of the New Zealand Team will be the fourth member of the Selection Panel. This appointment will be made prior to the 2013 State New Zealand Surf Life Saving Championships.

Please refer to the Position Description for further information. A brief covering letter and CV is expected from all applicants. The CV should identify the attributes the applicant has from the position description and provide a demonstrated record of achievement in those specific areas.

Reflecting the importance of these positions the appointments panel will include a SLSNZ Board representative.

Applications close at 5pm, Thursday 20 December 2012.
