Club Overview

Whangamata SLSC is based in the Coromandel. Whangamata SLSC was officially formed on 1 December 1949, at this time there were only 6 Volunteer Lifeguards to patrol the beach. Whangamata SLSC have come a long way since the inception and now boast a strong membership base and have some of the best club facilities within Surf Life Saving New Zealand, Whangamata offer full time professional patrols during the peak summer period.

Patrol Hours

Whangamata beach will be patrolled by Surf Lifeguards every Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays from 11am to 4pm between 22 October 2023 until 31 March 2024. Week day patrols from 10am to 6pm start from 11 December 2023 until 16 February 2024.
