Club Overview
Mangawhai Heads Volunteer Lifeguard Service is located on the East Coast of sunny Northland, approximately 52 kilometres southeast of Whangarei. The club is located149 Wintle Street, Mangawhai Heads.
Following the significant rainfall over 2023 Anniversary Weekend, a large section of the hillside behind the Mangawhai Surf Club has subsided, causing significant damage to the back wall of the club. This resulted in a Dangerous Building Notice being issued which is still in place. For health & safety reasons the clubhouse and surrounding area has been cordoned off by Kaipara District Council. 2024_25 patrols will be operating from temporary facilities that have been set up at the surf beach.
Beach access to via the public walkways only.
Patrol Hours
Mangawhai Heads will be patrolled by Volunteer Lifeguards every Saturday, Sunday & some Public Holiday from:
11.00am to 4.00pm from 26 October to 24 November 2024.
11.00pm to 5.00pm from 30 November 2024 to 23 February 2025
11.00am - 4.00pm from 1 March to 21 April 2025
Regional Guards will be patrolling Monday to Friday and some public holidays from:
10.00 - 6.00pm from 16 December 2024 to 14 February 2025
