Based on Auckland's rugged West Coast Bethells Beach is well worth a visit for both locals and tourists, offering an unspoilt West Coast landscape. During the summer months Bethells Beach Surf Life Saving Patrol provides life guarding services to protect the public visiting Bethells Beach. Volunteer lifeguards are rostered on every weekend and public holiday between October and April with paid Regional Guards filling in the week days during the peak Christmas period. We have an active Junior Surf program as well as adult surf sports and welcome new members.

Patrol Hours

Bethells Beach is patrolled on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays from 11:00am to 4:00pm between 24 October 2020 and 29 November 2020. These hours are extended to 11:00am to 5:00pm between 5 December 2020 and 28 February 2021. Hours return to 11:00am to 4:00pm from 6 March 2021 to 5 April 2021.
A Regional Lifeguard Service is provided Monday to Friday from 10 December 2019 to 23 January 2020 between 11:00am and 7:00pm.
