Online Learning Portal

Last season Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ) launched its new Online Learning Portal. This platform enables all members of SLSNZ to log in and complete theory-based training and assessments.

This season we will again be offering the opportunity for your members to complete their Surf Lifeguard Award (SLA) and Patrol Support (PS) refreshers online.
We have completed an extensive review of how this played out last year; we have identified a number of issues that we have rectified and have come up with a number of systems and process changes that we hope will make the experience smoother and more user-friendly this year. One key change is that opting into online refreshers will be at a club level – either all SLA and PS refreshers are completed entirely online, or entirely offline. Individual members cannot enrol directly, but club administrators are currently working through the opt in process.

While we are gradually migrating much of our member education experiences into an online learning environment, we are still being thorough in our testing and giving careful consideration to what we roll out, and when.

There has been some pretty exciting work happening on this over the winter; We look forward to being able to announce further progress in due course.
