Safeguarding Children
At Surf Life Saving New Zealand, safeguarding children and young people is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and positive environment where every child involved in surf lifesaving feels valued, protected, and empowered.
This commitment is more than a responsibility—it is a promise. We work proactively with our members, clubs, and staff to foster awareness through education, encourage open conversations, and uphold clear policies and procedures that guide our actions. When concerns are raised, we respond swiftly, appropriately, and with the wellbeing of children and young people as our top priority.
Through these efforts, Surf Life Saving New Zealand ensures that the values of safety, trust, and respect extend beyond the surf and into the very culture of our organisation. Together, we safeguard not just the waters, but also the future of every child and young person who takes part in surf lifesaving activities.
