National Powercraft Committee (NPC)

Committee Update - SLSNZ Annual Report 2025

The National Powercraft Committee exists to develop and improve Individual, Club and Regional capability and safety in the area of powercraft operations. We cover more than just IRBs; we also oversee the use of RWCs, ATVs and other vehicles on our beaches.

In the past year, our group has changed its name from the Powercraft Advisory Group (PAG) to the National Powercraft Committee (NPC). With this fresh re-naming and reset, we’ve had a stronger focus to oversee powercraft operations across the organisation, including work in the education and training space to improve current and plan future resources, keeping a focus on reducing injuries across our portfolio, assisting other Committee’s with advice, and our ongoing work with Maritime NZ in an evolving compliance space.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to continue our work with the SLSNZ Education Team to improve and develop our resources and support, make ongoing improvements in operating our vehicles safely, and continue to work with and support the other Volunteer Committees, regional groups and the wider membership.

Your National Powercraft Committee is represented by:
Jess Larson, Kate Suter, Matt Bradley, Rob Ferguson, Scott Nelson and Charlotte Becconsall (SLSNZ Board). And we are working closely with Andy Kent (SLSNZ GM Lifesaving), Scott Weatherall (SLSNZ Health & Safety Manager), Lewis McClintock (SLSNZ Sport Manager) and Dave Hickey (SLSNZ Powercraft Manager).
