Lifesaving Committees
Various SLSNZ Lifesaving Committees are responsible for the delivery and development of Lifesaving, and to provide staff with advice, feedback and support. There are a range of National, Regional and Local committees all which focus on different areas within Lifesaving. Lifesaving committees are constantly reviewing the following:
- Evolution of National Lifesaving Plan - in context to the SLSNZ strategic plan developed by the SLSNZ Board at the time.
- Lifesaving Standards and Operating Procedures
- National Lifesaving Policies
- Rescue Assets
- Development of new or evolution of existing drowning prevention initiatives
- Related review cycle activity
- Lifesaving related member recognition
Club Chairs Committees
The Club Chairs meetings are designed to bring together the principal leaders of clubs to discuss key topics of interest and share ideas that will enhance clubs. Key areas of focus for these groups may include:
- Strategy and direction
- Recruitment and retention
- Finance
- Asset Management
- Sustainability
Sport Committees
Sport Committee are responsible for providing positive leadership of Lifesaving Sport delivery and development and providing SLSNZ staff with advice, feedback and support. There is a range of committee's National, Regional and Local which all focus on different area's within Lifesaving Sport. Some key areas the sports committee's review are:
- Development
- Monitoring and evaluation of the Sport Strategy
- National sport polices and rules
- Sport participation
- Event development
- Coach development
- Surf Official development
- High performance development.
