Club Constitution resources
All surf lifesaving clubs need to re-register with the Incorporated Societies Registrar by April 2026 with a constitution compliant with the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 and Regulations (2023). The new Act modernises the way societies (clubs) operate and contains some major changes to what must now be included in a club’s Constitution.
The 2024 Club Constitution Template has been prepared for clubs to use as a base document for drafting their new club constitution, reducing the duplication of effort and costs for clubs. The template has been developed to help Clubs adopt an aligned, current and legally sound Constitution yet is flexible enough to allow for specific Club requirements.
All SLSNZ Clubs are required to have a constitution that aligns with the SLSNZ Constitution.
