OCEANS ’26 – VENUE UPDATE

Surf Life Saving New Zealand, in conjunction with Tauranga City Council, Mount Maunganui Lifeguard Service, and Pāpāmoa Surf Life Saving Club, has made the decision to relocate Oceans ’26 to Pāpāmoa Beach, to be held 19–22 February. This decision is fully supported by the leadership of both clubs.

Following last week’s tragic event at Mount Maunganui Beachside Holiday Park, and with full information now available, the appropriateness of the original venue for Oceans ’26 had to be carefully reconsidered.

We continue to acknowledge and empathise with Mount Maunganui Lifeguard Service and its membership during this difficult time, and we sincerely thank Pāpāmoa Surf Life Saving Club and its members for their willingness to accommodate the event.
