Description
Gisborne welcomes ER Clubs to weekend of connection, competition and celebration.
Make a weekend of it and head to Gisborne for some fun and unique racing with ya mates.
To purpose of the alternative to Nationals is provide an opportunity for Senior Sport Athletes, Officials, Event Water Safety and members to come together to test skills, connect and have fun.
The event will be open to U15, U17, U19, Open and Masters Competitors, male and female who are current primary members of an Eastern Region SLS Club with a refreshed lifeguard award
COVID Protection Framework (CPF):
In order to deliver this event in the CPF Red Light, it will require all attendees (participants, athletes, coaches, managers, water safety, officials and spectators) aged 12 years and 3 months or older within the defined competition areas to provide proof of vaccination by scanning their My Vaccine Pass (MVP)
Entries are open now through the SLSNZ EnterNow system, entries close Friday 4 March 11am
Friday 11 March, Gizzy Grinder, Waikanae – Midway, 4pm start time
A long distance multi discipline event, individual or teams (male and female teams of up to 4)
Proposed Course
Run Waikanae boardwalk to Railway Bridge
Railway Bridge jump, swim to Waikanae
Board Paddle to Midway
Ski around mile marker buoys to finish at Waikanae
Saturday 12 March, Waikanae/Midway and Sand Track
Morning, 9am Start
- Ironman/women eliminator at Waikanae/Midway conditions pending
- Beach Flags at the Sand track
1pm
- ER Interclub – teams challenge
Sunday 13 March, surf beach location TBC, 9am start
