Description
COURSE OVERVIEW
This is a 2-day course for people holding a current first aid certificate who wish to further their knowledge and skills to a higher qualification. Advanced Surf First Aid includes drowning physiology, circum-rescue collapse, assessment of non-fatal drowning, scene management, advanced monitoring (Pulse oximetry, blood glucose, and chest auscultation) and triage. Covering, unit Standard 29321. SLA/IRB instructors, senior lifeguards, patrol captains and SAR members are highly encouraged to complete this qualification.
This course has an online learning component that needs to be completed before attending the practical course. First Training will distribute further information after registrations close. Because of the online learning, registration must be in six weeks prior.
For an advanced surf first aid refresher members are required to attend Saturday 3rd December.
