SLSNZ Annual General Meeting
Paul Dalton - SLSNZ Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Notice is given to all Clubs, Life Members, Associate Members and Board Members that the 2021 Annual General Meeting of Surf Life Saving New Zealand Incorporated (“SLSNZ”) will be held at 4.00pm on Saturday, 18 September 2021 at the Te Papa Tongarewa (Museum of New Zealand) in Wellington.
The Delegate form to advise attendance is below. The deadline for this form to be returned is 5.00pm on Wednesday 18th August 2021. Please note there is no flexibility with this deadline and late forms cannot be accepted, so get in early!! It is recommended to respond immediately and change the delegate later on if required rather than risk missing out.
To get the best deals on airfares and accommodation please plan ahead. The AGM is only a very small part of the day with the Club Chairs Strategy Workshop and Awards of Excellence dinner being the real highlights so you will get value from your trip.
Also found below is an invitation for Clubs to send a delegate to the Club Chairs Strategy Workshop – a not to be missed event. It does not have to be the Club Chair if they are not available. This is the only opportunity in the year for all Clubs to get together to discuss matters of strategic importance so the SLSNZ Board strongly encourage everyone to participate. The opportunity is now open for Clubs to advise what topics they would like to see on the agenda for that session.
To avoid any confusion – all Club delegates at the AGM are invited to attend the Awards of Excellence dinner being held on the Saturday evening. All Life Members and their Spouses are also invited. Due to limited capacity and not being sure until later in the year how many Award Winners and Life Members will be attending we can’t confirm yet whether Delegates will be able to bring along partners/ spouses to the dinner, but please let us know if you would like to bring a spouse/ partner and we will advise in late August if that is going to be possible.
Impact of Covid-19: As we experienced last year, if the Government rules around the Covid-19 response make it impractical or impossible to hold a face to face meeting on the above date (at the time of writing, this would realistically require New Zealand to be down at Alert Level 1 as currently defined), the AGM will instead be held electronically via video or audio conference (see Rule 22.3 b, SLSNZ Constitution) at the same date and time. If this change of format is to occur, notice will be given as soon as possible, recognising that Government rules could change at any time. Fingers crossed we don’t have this problem again!!
