Description
The Taranaki Lifeguard camp is intended to help surf club members achieve their lifeguard award. Training days will be held over the 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th of October with examination being on Friday the 29th and Saturday 30th of October. This is an all-inclusive camp that will give candidates the skills and knowledge they need to become qualified lifeguards.
Candidates will be taught basic lifeguard skills including but not limited to; First Aid, CPR, Tube Rescue, Holds and Releases, Run Swim Run swimming, Signals, Radio Operation and lifeguard theory. Following the camp candidates will be examined to see if they meet the standard necessary to become a lifeguard.
COURSE INFORMATION
Duration: 4 training days + 1 and half examination days. Each training day is 9am-4pm.
Requirements: Participate in full courses as required for qualification + pass examinations
Be 14 years of age at time of examination
Be registered with a Surf Life Saving Club
