Canterbury - Missing Person at Sea Exercise

Description

As part of the ongoing work for Health & Safety of our athletes that is being done by SLSNZ, on Saturday 20th November we will be running a missing person at sea exercise that will be implemented if a major incident were to happen at one of our surf sport events. The aim of this is for us, as clubs to be better prepared in case such an incident was to occur at one of our events. ALL clubs will need to attend at least with the following:

  • Minimum 6 Swimmers/Competitors (who will need to come prepared to get wet and have the following; swim goggles, fins, wetsuit, yellow Hi-Viz vest)
  • One Club Coordinator
  • The Clubs Junior and Senior Team Managers used at local and regional events.

NOTE: The Missing Persons at Sea Exercise will commence at the conclusion of the last pre-season event. All competitors, coaches and managers should stay for this to complete the exercise please.

Can all clubs please inform Luke of your club coordinator for this.
