COURSE OVERVIEW
Our Rock Training & Rescue Instructor course will give you the skills and knowledge needed for the Instructor Award - Rock Training. The qualification equips members with relevant theory and practical skills about instruction and teaching to use when training members in rock activities. Click here for more info.
COURSE INFORMATION
Duration: Half Day (4-5 hrs) + onsite assessment
Requirements: Fully participate in the Rock Training and Rescue Instructor Course and complete the practical components.

PRE-REQUISITES - Instructor Award - Rock Training
18 years of age
Current member of a SLS club
Surf Lifeguard Award (Refreshed)
Minimum 3 years active patrol experience, including relevant rock activity experience
Demonstrated competency of local beach, local drifts/currents/swells and rock conditions
Instructors Award - Surf Lifeguard or IRB
Attend a Rock Training and Rescue Instructor Course
OUTCOMES
At the completion of the qualification, candidates will be able to:
- Prepare for lessons and implement lesson plans and sequences
- Create a safe physical environment conducive to learning/training
- Communicate with candidates
- Identify and apply effective questioning techniques
- Identify, manage and assess Risk
- Demonstrate practical ability to perform exam components of the module
- Prepare candidates for assessment
