<p><strong>COURSE OVERVIEW</strong></p> <p>Our Rock Training &amp; Rescue Instructor course will give you the skills and knowledge needed for the <strong>Instructor Award - Rock Training</strong>. The qualification equips members with relevant theory and practical skills about instruction and teaching to use when training members in rock activities.</p> <p><strong>TOPICS COVERED</strong></p> <ol> <li>Communication &amp; Planning</li> <li>Risk Management</li> <li>Rock Training &amp; Rescue Theory</li> <li>Practical Delivery of module components</li> <li>Readiness for Assessment<br /><br /></li> </ol> <p><strong>OUTCOMES</strong></p> <p><strong>At the completion of the qualification, candidates will be able to:</strong></p> <ol> <li>Prepare for lessons and implement lesson plans and sequences</li> <li>Create a safe physical environment conducive to learning/training</li> <li>Communicate with candidates</li> <li>Identify and apply effective questioning techniques</li> <li>Identify, manage and assess Risk</li> <li>Demonstrate practical ability to perform exam components of the module</li> <li>Prepare candidates for assessment</li> </ol> <p><strong>PRE-REQUISITES</strong></p> <p>18 years of age<br />Current member of a SLS club<br />Surf Lifeguard Award (Refreshed)<br />Minimum 3 years active patrol experience, including relevant rock activity experience<br />Demonstrated competency of local beach, local drifts/currents/swells and rock conditions<br />Instructors Award - Surf Lifeguard or IRB<br />Attend a Rock Training and Rescue Instructor Course</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Registration information to follow.</strong></p> Development

PRE-REQUISITES

18 years of age
Current member of a SLS club
