<p>This programme is being piloted for the first time in the Eastern Region and will be designed to provide training, skill development and experience for lifeguards who have been patrolling for 2-3 seasons.</p> <p>The Intermediate Lifeguard Pilot Programme is delivered via a two day camp where candidates complete modules in surf lifeguarding techniques, team work, public image, emergency care, board rescue and introductory rock/surf rescue.</p> <p>This course is an excellent opportunity to become a more confident and capable lifeguard and learn from some of the most experienced and skilled lifeguards in the region.</p> <p>Pre-requisites:</p> <ul> <li>At least 16yrs of age</li> <li>SLSNZ member (Current on SLSNZ Database)</li> <li>Surf Lifeguard Award (refreshed)</li> <li>400 Metre swim in under 8 minutes</li> <li>First Aid Level 1 (Current)</li> <li>IRB Crewpersons Module</li> <li>2 full seasons of patrolling experience</li> <li>Club Endorsement &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 10px; line-height: 1em;">&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span> <span style="font-size: 10px; line-height: 1em; text-align: justify;">&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</span></li> </ul> <p><span>Spaces on the course are limited to 20, therefore clubs will be asked to prioritise applicants during the endorsement process.
