<p>Rightio everyone let's get ready to rumble ……… Waimarama is hosting the Junior Surf Carnival this Sunday, please be there at 9.30am for registration, there will be a quick briefing at 9.50am, the carnival starts proper at 10.00am.<br /> &nbsp;<br /> IMPORTANT - the carnival coordinator (Neal Galland) will review sea conditions late on Friday, if he has concerns the carnival maybe be transferred to Westshore. If this occurs we will advise by email on Saturday morning.<br /> &nbsp;<br /> And for those of you cricket fans…….. there'll be plenty of time to see the cricket at McLean Park after the carnival.<br /> &nbsp;<br /> The kids compete in their age groups (age as at 1st October 2013), and they are as follows:<br /> 9 years &amp; under - this age group compete in the Participation Arena, these are land-based events. Club togs are recommended, however regular togs are permitted, but board shorts are not permitted. If your child wishes to compete in the water-based events with the 10 &amp; 11 years please talk to us on the day.<br /> 10 &amp; 11 years - this age group compete in the Competition Arena in both land-based &amp; water-based events. It is compulsory these kids compete in club togs, display their 200m badge (sewn into their club togs), must wear a pink vest, and in a club competition beanie. No wetsuits are allowed.
