Every year, Surf Life Saving
patrols over 80 beaches, visits over 450 schools to teach kiwi
how to stay safe at our favourite playground and
makes more than 1,000 rescues.
As the patrol season comes to a close it gives our lifeguards
the opportunity to take stock of the
training and equipment needed for next season and check over all
of the equipment that has been
damaged by the sun, sand and saltwater in the pressure environment
that our lifeguards work in.
Over the years, thousands of people have been given a
second chance at life, thanks to our surf lifeguards and the
support of our donors and partners.
