Committed to preventing death and injury on beaches

As a non-profit organisation, Surf Life Saving Northern Region depends on the goodwill of the community, commercial sponsors and special fundraising events to maintain the level of service and programmes people have come to expect. Although patrolling our beaches is our major priority, community education, surf sports and lifeguard development are all part of our services. We reach into all parts of the community and involve all ages, both male and female.

Volunteers, sponsors and fundraising events are essential

Each summer season more than 3,000 volunteer lifeguards from 17 surf lifesaving clubs give up their time to patrol the beaches that make up Surf Life Saving Northern Region. They are dedicated and committed to preventing death and injury on our beaches. Our volunteer lifeguards turn up day after day to make the beach safer. They risk their lives to ensure your day out at the beach ends with only great memories of a day in the sun.
